	John Taylor Gatto taught school in New York City for 30 years. He was three times New York City Teacher of the Year. He was New York State Teacher of the Year in 1991, when he quit in disgust because it was impossible for him to teach and for his students to learn. Read his biography here

He wrote the books Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling and The Underground History of American Education.

He has solved the mystery of why our public schools are so bad,
